Give Tradition the Finger

Our longtime friends at Klarna asked us to help out with getting people talking about their latest major marketing campaign Get What You Love, this time featuring Lady Gaga. Since we had a blast working with Snoop Dogg and last year’s Get Smoooth campaign, we figured this would be just as fun. We weren’t wrong.
The Holy Trinity
Long story short: Klarna and LA-based fashion activist Bea Åkerlund designed a couple of spectacular engagement rings to encourage people to break traditions and go get what they love. Conveniently, Bea is friends with Lady Gaga who really loved the ring and what it represents. Gaga shared a powerful statement about the state of love in 2020 to all of her followers. She also proposed to herself, using Klarna and Bea’s ring.
Paid & Earned Media
In addition to Klarna buying virtually every paid media slot available in Sweden, we also secured a number of interviews and got editorial coverage in major news outlets like SvD Näringsliv, Dagens Industri, Aftonbladet and Expressen, as well as lifestyle media like Elle, Femina, Baaam and of course – Hänt!
